Who doesn’t want less wrinkles and better hair! Well your answer is here… Platelet Rich Plasma has arrived at Dynamic Dermatology. We love natural treatments here, which is why we are so excited to introduce this new treatment.
What is PRP?
– PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. Everyone’s blood contains multiple ingredients: red blood cells, platelets, white blood cells and plasma. To separate out the beneficial potion, we draw your blood and spin down your own blood to extract out only the platelets and plasma. The platelets contain growth factors and nutrients which can then be used to help stimulate collagen and stimulate hair growth.
What can you use PRP for?
– We can use your own PRP to help naturally stimulate anti-aging properties when applying PRP with micro-needling.
– We can also extract your PRP and administer to your scalp to help stimulate more hair growth, particularly for hereditary hair loss or androgenic alopecia.
What does getting a PRP treatment entail?
– The Medical Assistant will bring you back into the exam room and draw a small amount of blood. We then use a machine called a centrifuge to separate the good and bad ingredients in your blood. The red blood cells are then discarded and the plasma which contains the platelets is drawn up and if treating hair loss,
it is then injected in scattered areas on the scalp. If we are using the PRP for anti-aging, we pair this with micro-needling and place a small bit of your PRP on your skin and follow with the micro-needling to really stimulate collagen production to help fight the signs of age!
